TV Season Ends With All Unanswered Plot Questions Answered
LOS ANGELES After the suspense of "The Today Show"'s week-long travelogue segment, "Where in the World is Matt Lauer?" (followed by Comedy Central's "Who Cares?"), the TV season came to an end with a bang, not a whimper.
The "X Files" used its final two-hour episode to tie up all the loose ends from the last two years. Mulder returned to the show to reveal he was not only the father of Scully's son, but also that the child came from Ally McBeal's egg, one of which had gone missing in an early improbable plot twist.
There were no complaints from viewers when "Friends"' unmarried Rachel gave birth to ex-boyfriend Ross's baby (Dan Quayle, where are you now?), until Mulder revealed that Ross was an alien.
But the biggest shocker was Ally revealing that her emaciated frame was a result of contracting AIDS.
